Phil Cowan

Philip A. Cowan, Ph.D., is a professor of psychology, emeritus, at the University of California, Berkeley. He co-directed and trained facilitators in three longitudinal intervention studies with partners who are parents in the U.S., the United Kingdom, and Malta. He is a former director of the Psychology Clinic and the Institute of Human Development at UCB, coauthor of many studies of couple relationships, and coauthor of When Partners Become Parents: The Big Change for Couples (2000) with Carolyn Pape Cowan.
