Carolyn Pape Cowan, Ph.D., is an adjunct professor of psychology, emerita, at the University of California, Berkeley. She co-directed and trained facilitators in three longitudinal intervention studies with partners who are parents in the U.S., the United Kingdom, and Malta, and trained doctoral students in clinical psychology to work with couples. She has published widely in the literatures on couple relationships and evaluating interventions to foster couple, child, and family development, and is coauthor of When Partners Become Parents: The Big Change for Couples (2000) with Philip A. Cowan.
