I LOVE this post! It came in my mail box right on time. I’ve been losing my patience with my girls in the past couple of weeks, they started fighting more (since the younger one turned 4 and is more opinionated).
Just now I feel like I’m losing my patience when my 4 year old keeps crying over everything this morning (from not having her favorite spoon, trough spilled beads to not having the TV show she wanted).
I would love a written summary/short article on this issue. The example of fighting in the car over doll bathing suit sounds taken from my life.
Could you please write an article or post a cheat sheet summarizing this post?

Ohhhhhh just in time! Finally, someone has a suggestion for what to do AFTER I melt down! I love the idea of a take-over. I almost never yell. I am a very quiet type and can usually manage to think before I react. But when I do lose control and yell (or even scream, as happened last Tuesday night), you have given me something actually useful and constructive to do, besides the obvious apology. Thank you, thank you, thank you! This will help me and my 3 and 4 year old boys very much.
