Hannah J. Villareal
Hannah J. Villareal (they/them) is a writer and research assistant at Greater Good specializing in diversity, equity, and inclusion. In addition to writing pieces for Greater Good magazine, they work to improve the inclusivity and cultural sensitivity of the practices on Greater Good in Action. They have been working with Greater Good since their undergraduate days at the University of California, Berkeley, where they majored in psychology and minored in gender and women’s studies.
When Hannah is not collaborating with Greater Good, they are an K–8 educator at Evergreen Elementary School District in San Jose, California. They also assist local community members in need as a volunteer for South Bay Mutual Aid. Hannah is an advocate for holistic well-being, as they prioritize mental health education and social justice for people of all ages.
Hannah has studied abroad in Japan and the Philippines and frequently visits family in Hawaii. In their free time, they enjoy weightlifting, swimming, practicing piano, playing video games, attending raves, and supporting the Golden State Warriors.
