Linda Lantieri

Linda Lantieri, MA is a Fulbright Scholar, keynote speaker, and internationally known expert in social and emotional learning. Currently she serves as the Founding Director of The Inner Resilience Program (IRP) whose mission is to cultivate the inner lives of students, teachers and schools by integrating social and emotional learning with contemplative practice. Linda is one of the co-founders and is currently a Senior Program Advisor for the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL). CASEL’s mission is to establish social and emotional learning as an essential part of education from preschool through high school. She is also the co-founder of the Resolving Conflict Creatively Program (RCCP), a research based Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) program which has been implemented in over 400 schools in the United States, with pilot sites in Brazil, Spain and Puerto Rico. Linda has over 40 years of experience in education as a former teacher, assistant principal, director of an alternative middle school in East Harlem, and faculty member of the Department of Curriculum and Teaching at Hunter College in New York City. She is the co-author of Waging Peace in Our Schools (Beacon Press, 1996), editor of Schools with Spirit: Nurturing the Inner Lives of Children and Teachers (Beacon Press, 2001), chapter contributor to Forever After: New York City Teachers on 9/11 (Teacher College Press, 2006), and author of Building Emotional Intelligence: Techniques to Cultivate Inner Strength in Children (Sounds True, 2008, 2014). She has authored and/or co-authored over 20 articles and book chapters.
