PROFILE

Tania Singer, Ph.D., is the director of the Social Neuroscience Department at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences in Leipzig, Germany, since 2010. Her research focus is on the neuronal, developmental, and hormonal foundations of human social behavior, cooperation, and social emotions (e.g., empathy, compassion, and fairness) and their malleability through mental training.
