Joy Roos
Joy Roos, MSW, is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Human Development and Family Science at the University of Missouri. Her work examines Latine/x positive adjustment within contexts of adversity, the socialization of cultural and moral values, and adolescent prosocial behavior toward diverse others. Prior to Mizzou, Joy served as an advocate for Latine/x youth and families throughout the Midwestern United States in settings of domestic violence prevention, youth leadership programming, and equitable access to higher education. As a trained social worker, she values the intersection between research and practice as well as community-based and participatory research approaches. Joy received her B.A. in Psychology and Spanish from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and her MSW from Washington University in St. Louis with an emphasis in program development and evaluation.
