Gustavo Carlo

Gustavo Carlo, Ph.D., is a professor in the School of Education at the University of California, Irvine. His primary research interest focuses on understanding positive social development and health in culturally diverse children and adolescents. Many of his projects focus on ethnic/racial groups in and outside the U.S., including Latino/a/e youth and families. He has published over 200 books, chapters, and research papers. He has received funding from various agencies (including NSF, NIH) and has received awards for his mentorship and research (including an APA/John Templeton Foundation Positive Psychology Award). He currently serves as a member of the SRCD Governing Council, associate editor of both Child Development and Developmental Psychology research journals, and coeditor of the 2022 APA Handbook of Adolescent and Young Adult Development.
