Erica Coslor

Erica Coslor, Ph.D., is a senior lecturer in management at the University of Melbourne and the newly appointed program director for several of the Master of Management programs (MM, HR, Marketing). She enjoys finding links between her research and her teaching into classes like Strategic Management.

Based in her sociological training at the University of Chicago, her research is focused on new market emergence, firm and product categories, legitimacy, valuation, and calculative practices. She’s had the opportunity to further her theoretical interests in several different contexts, including the emergence of art as a legitimate financial asset category and grid computing. Along with work on management innovations like flexible working and cross-disciplinary teams, she is looking forward to working in new areas along with her Ph.D. students.
