Mary Grace Antony

Mary Grace Antony, Ph.D., is a visiting assistant professor of communication studies at Western Washington University. Her research examines intercultural communication, globalization, new media discourse, and audience analysis. Her research has been published in the Journal of International and Intercultural Communication, the Journal of Intercultural Communication Research, New Media & Society, the Western Journal of Communication, the Southern Communication Journal, and the International Journal of Media & Cultural Politics. She is also the author of Audience Responses to Real Media Violence: The Knockout Game (Lexington Books) and co-editor of Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Child Migrants and Refugees: Seen But Not Heard (Lexington Books).

A related study examining transgressions and forgiveness in friendships by Antony and Sheldon appears in the journal Communication Quarterly. Antony has also penned entries on “Cognition and Information Processing,” and “Cognitive Processing, Disengagement, and Empathy” in the upcoming SAGE International Encyclopedia of Mass Media and Society.
