Andrea L. Howard

Andrea Howard, Ph.D., is an associate professor in the Department of Psychology at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, and the director of the Pickering Centre for Research in Human Development. Her research program focuses broadly on well-being and mental health in adolescence and the transition to adulthood, and the unique challenges of the transition to university figure prominently in her work. Her work has been funded by federal granting agencies in the U.S. and Canada, supporting numerous scientific articles on mood and depression, alcohol and other substance use, and developmental outcomes for young people with ADHD. Dr. Howard is also known for her research and teaching expertise in statistical methods for analyzing developmental data.
