Tania Wiseman, Ph.D., is associate professor in occupational therapy, program lead for occupational therapy, and head of therapies in the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Science, at Swansea University.

She qualified as an occupational therapist in 1996 at the University of Brighton, after successfully completing a degree in biological sciences at the University of Sussex. Her work in the fields of physical and mental health with adults of all ages was complemented by a master’s degree in occupational therapy in 1999.

Her research interests are focused on leisure in later life. She leads a leisure in later life research group, with several master’s students presenting at national conferences and some peer-reviewed publications. She completed a Ph.D. exploring leisure in 21st-century later life in September 2019. In addition to this, she is active in developing sustainable health curricula, and combating ageism in health professions training.
