Annette Clancy, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of management at the School of Art History & Cultural Policy, University College Dublin. The focus of her research is on emotion in organizations and in particular how unconscious dynamics influence and inform organizational structure and behavior. She earned her PhD at the University of Bath where her doctoral research investigated disappointment (frequently assumed to be a ‘negative’ emotion) and explored how it might be re-imagined as a catalyst for organizational learning and creativity. Prior to becoming an academic she ran my own organizational consultancy practice for over 17 years. She consulted to and coached senior executives in over 100 organizations cross the public, private and cultural sectors in Ireland, England and the USA. Before that she held senior management positions in the cultural sector in Ireland and England.
