Ace V. Simpson

Ace V. Simpson, Ph.D., is visiting professor of management at Manhattan University and director of the Center for Compassion Studies in New York. His research bridges positive organizational scholarship and critical management studies, with a focus on workplace compassion, humility, and psychological safety. He also investigates the shadow side of organizations—power dynamics, bullying, and toxic leadership—through paradox theory and critical inquiry.

Ace serves as a research advisor to the Center for Positive Organizations at the University of Michigan and the Center for Contemplative Science and Compassion-Based Ethics at Emory University. He has collaborated with organizations such as the NHS to develop compassion-centered leadership practices and interpersonal capabilities. His work appears in journals including Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Learning & Education, and Journal of Management. He is co-author of Organizational Compassion: A Relational Approach (Routledge, 2024) and Positive Organizational Behavior (Routledge, 2020).
