Jacob Z. Hess
Jacob Z. Hess, Ph.D., teaches Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction and is Executive Director for the Council for Sustainable Healing. In recent years, he has helped create online courses that integrate mindfulness and therapeutic lifestyle change for those with severe emotional distress (Mindweather 101), depression and anxiety (Lift), chemical dependency (Turn), and compulsive pornography use (Fortify).
Jacob is a former Board Member of the National Coalition of Dialogue and Deliberation, and a Bridging Fellow at Greater Good Science Center. Since co-authoring You’re Not as Crazy as I Thought, But You’re Still Wrong, with Phil Neisser from State University of New York, Jacob has been a proud partner of Living Room Conversations and the Village Square’s Respect and Rebellion project to cultivate and celebrate unorthodox friendships.
