Shahina Braganza

Shahina Braganza, M.B.B.S., is a senior emergency physician who works in a busy ER in Australia and a fellow of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine. She has a strong interest in “the hidden curriculum” in health care training (empathy, compassion, and self-care), not just for the sake of individual or team well-being, but in order to enhance performance and service delivery. She is also passionate about the promotion of “non-technical” skills in health care including leadership, communication, and teamwork. It is her vision that these skills will be recognized as core skills alongside the technical aspects of being an effective clinician. Her non-clinical portfolio in the ER includes inter-disciplinary departmental education, the Psychiatry-ER interface, and various ACEM commitments. Her contributions and commentary can be found on shahinabraganza.com.
