Every year since living and working abroad, we’ve invited friends and family to mail contributions to our “Tree of Thanks” (cut out hands covered with things they are thankful for) which we use for our Christmas tree and leave up for the rest of the year! It’s been so lovely that we’re planning to continue the tradition even after our move back to the States.
Welcome to our community gratitude journal, open to all who’d like to express their thanks or share a happy thought.
What are you grateful for?
I’m happy we’ve finalized our plans to see family over the holidays. I’m also happy for good, cheap wine.
I’m grateful for friends of different ages and backgrounds and interests. We have a lot to share when we get together.
I am very grateful for answered prayer.
(paraphrased) I’m proud of my alma mater.
I’m grateful for…employment!
I am grateful that the construction is finally complete on the roads all around our house! I no longer have to drive an extra circuitous mile to get home.

OK, kids, husband, friends and enough money goes almost without saying. I’m grateful for them everyday. And coffee, Lord, thank you for the coffee.
Do you have a Gratitude Tree? Tell us about it! Send us a photo! Or, just tell us what you’re grateful for or what makes you happy.
To contribute, email your gratitude (a sentence or two would be great) or your favorite photo to Janine at firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can also contribute by commenting at the bottom of this post. Please include: your name if you’d like us to use it and any other info you’d like us to list, e.g., if the “gratitude” is from one of your children, it would be great to know his or her age.
