Welcome to our community gratitude journal, open to all who’d like to express their thanks or share a happy thought.

I am grateful for my happy dog, Picasso, who is here at my office working as a therapy dog.
Pennie Sempell

I am grateful for my family and friends for their support during my recent separation (to divorce). They have been very understanding and supportive.

I’m grateful that a friend’s husband passed his U.S. Citizenship Exam.

I’m so thankful that my grown children make such an effort to get together with family.  They travel from distant parts to visit each other and all the grandparents!
Happy Mom

I’m happy for a friend of mine who has been out of work for several months and just found her dream job!
Happy for a Friend

I’ happy that we went to the zoo with friends this week. The kids loved the tarantula exhibit!
Oakland Mom

I am grateful for my husband, who had to scrub some very dirty dishes last night.
a Grateful Wife

I’m grateful that our neighbors opened their home to host a community meeting about safety and preparedness.
Janine Kovac

Every week we post a photo submitted by one of our readers along with all the happy and thankful comments gathered throughout the week.

To contribute, email your gratitude (a sentence or two would be great) or your favorite photo to Janine at janinek@berkeley.edu

You can also contribute by commenting at the bottom of this post.  Please include: your name if you’d like us to use it and any other info you’d like us to list, e.g., if the “gratitude” is from one of your children, it would be great to know his or her age.
