Today’s smile of the day definitely came from this photo of my niece’s new kitty.

I am grateful for my whole whole whole whole whole whole whole whole whole… whole whole whole whole whole whole whole whole life!!!!
Morgan (3.5 years)

I’m grateful for our dog who is always in a good mood.

I am grateful that I have a career (as a pediatric emergency room nurse) that is intellectually stimulating, rewarding, and reminds me on a daily basis to appreciate my healthy children even during the challenging times.

I am grateful to celebrate my husband’s and my 10 year wedding anniversary. I’m also grateful that I figured out a long time ago that my husband shows he cares about me in many meaningful ways and if I want tulips on my anniversary I should just buy them for myself! I look forward to many more years of being grateful for his strengths—he’s loving, supportive, generous, and a wonderful father—instead of trying to turn him into Hollywood’s version of romantic.

I’m grateful for others that promote the sharing of gratitude.  The action of focusing on all of the blessings in my life has definitely made a difference in my everyday life!
Angie Sheeley-Gurwell

I’m grateful that my son is healthy enough to be feisty.

I’m happy that today is Friday because it means that my inbox will fill up with gratitudes from people I have never met. It’s a great way to start the weekend.

Every week we post a photo submitted by one of our readers along with all the happy and thankful comments gathered throughout the week.

To contribute, email your gratitude (a sentence or two would be great) or your favorite photo to Janine at janinek@berkeley.edu

You can also contribute by commenting at the bottom of this post.  Please include: your name if you’d like us to use it and any other info you’d like us to list, e.g., if the “gratitude” is from one of your children, it would be great to know his or her age.
