Malini Suchak


Malini Suchak is a comparative psychologist studying social cognition, particularly cooperation and social learning, in a variety of species. Currently, she is most interested in better understanding how our companion animals, cats and dogs, make social decisions while living in a multi-species world. Previously, her work focused on social decision-making in chimpanzees and capuchin monkeys. She obtained her B.S. in Biology from Canisius College, and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Psychology, with an emphasis on Neuroscience and Animal Behavior, from Emory University. She currently resides in Buffalo, NY, where she is an assistant professor of animal behavior, ecology, and conservation at Canisius College.
