Last week, people from 21 countries and 49 states joined the Campaign for 100,000 Happier Parents! (If you don’t know about this campaign to foster happiness in parents everywhere, please read this post. And of course, don’t forget to sign the pledge!) Our goal is to have 100,000 parents join our simple campaign by the end of the school year. So please keep forwarding “campaign information” to your friends, and posting on Facebook!
If you’ve already joined us, you’ve pledged to take steps to become happier over the next nine months. Do you know what your next step will be? Here are some great resources to get you started:
Raising Happiness: this blog, and the book. Both are dedicated to teaching parents how to raise happier kids and be happier themselves. A big part of the blog is the discussion that’s often generated by each post. I hope you’ll participate in both the online discussion, and in our community gratitude journal.
Sign up for the monthly Raising Happiness newsletter or get each posting via email or RSS feed.
Greater Good, the online magazine that includes Raising Happiness. Beyond parenting, this magazine is also a wealth of information about the science of happiness. This article, “The Hows of Happiness,” is a great place to start.

Podcasts are a great way to learn something new while driving or folding the laundry.
Check out the Happiness Matters podcast (here or on iTunes), a collaboration between me and Childhood Matters radio host Rona Renner.
The Greater Good Podcast features leading thinkers on the roots of compassion and happiness. Check out both podcasts on Greater Good or in iTunes—be sure to rate the podcasts in iTunes and leave a comment!
Do we have some great, happiness boosting events coming up for you! First, check out the Science of a Meaningful Life series. Coming up: a day-long seminar, “Seeds of Compassion, Roots of Empathy,” which will show why leading a kind, compassionate life is a prescription for happiness—and explain how to foster compassion and empathy in yourself and others, especially children.
You might also like to come to one of my evening speaking engagements; a full list can be found here.
Come to the Raising Happiness Class and join a local Raising Happiness discussion group. The Raising Happiness Class was created to help busy parents learn how best to raise happy kids AND to become happier themselves.
Become a member of the Greater Good Science Center. Membership in the GGSC isn’t just a great way to show your support of the GGSC; it grants you discounts on our events, access to special Greater Good videos and articles, and more!

Generate happiness in others by spreading the word. Although the Campaign for 100,000 Happier Parents may seem too simple to foster a sea change, think of it as an acorn that will soon be a great oak tree. INTENTION can be a powerful force for change. So please, spread happiness by spreading the word about our Campaign for Happier Parents. You might want to post this link on your Facebook page, tweet about what we are doing, or send an email to your friends.
