What Are You Feeling Happy About?
Got Gratitude? Want to share it with others?
Welcome to our community gratitude journal, open to all who’d like to express their thanks or share a happy thought.
Here’s how it works: every week we post a photo submitted by one of our readers along with all the happy and thankful comments gathered throughout the week.
You can also contribute by commenting at the bottom of this post—we’ll pick out a few favorites for next week’s posting. Please include: your name if you’d like us to use it and any other info you’d like us to list, e.g., if the “gratitude” is from one of your children, it would be great to know his or her age.
Got a better name than “Shout Out?” We’d love your feedback. Submit your suggestions in the comments, please.
Here are some Shout-Outs that were submitted during the week:
I’m happy because all four of us sat down to dinner together almost every night for the last two weeks. We are all eating healthier food and watching less TV. Bedtime is relatively straightforward after a peaceful meal. Best of all, we get to talk to each other about our days, brainstorm ideas for the future and just bask in the glow of one another’s company.
I am grateful to my son for his realness and his willingness.

I am happy right now. It makes me smile, now does. And when I conjure what it felt like to be in love i will laugh right now. Now the uncertainty principle comes into play because i am looking. Oh, goodness…
I’m so happy for friends cuddling with me!

I’m so happy because the babysitter for my 20-month old daughter, Phoebe, told me how kind Phoebe is to the 8-month old girl that’s also in her care.

I am happy because the weather is finally turning to crisp fall temperatures and the honey crisp apples are being harvested!
I am blissfully happy my first grade son stood up to his friend who stole another classmates lunch money. He asked his classmate “Why do you look sad?” and his response caused him to approach the boy who stole the money and asked him to give it back because he is upset. so proud.

I’m thankful for my children. I feel blessed to be able to watch them grow into their own ‘selves’.
Grateful for this lovely Fall weekends spending time with my family!
