Welcome to our community gratitude journal, open to all who’d like to express their thanks or share a happy thought.

Today I’m so thankful for good friends. That type of friend that supports your parenting style. The one friend that can walk into your kitchen and be your third and fourth hand. That blessing of a friend that knows what needs to be done before YOU even realize what needs to be done. These are few…and very valuable.

I am grateful for my husband who shows me so much compassion, joy and acceptance.

I’m happy that my parish, St. Augustine’s in Oakland, has a growth mindset! Yeah, Father Mark!

I am so grateful for the gifts from friends and family for our new, sunny apartment and for my dad’s hospitality for the past month.

I just bought the first-ever “back-to-school” clothes for my five-year-old daughter.  She helped pick them out from a catalog by putting blue dots next to what she liked.  I am really grateful that she is so excited about kindergarten and I am looking forward to all the fun new experiences we will have!

I am so happy that all three children sleep through the night.

I am thankful for my aunt Loraine and uncle Ken who come through for us whenever we need help with the kids or with Ginger—our wonderful pet!

On Fridays, I become so happy when I read in this Gratitude Journal of what makes others happy.  I want to say, “That is so true.  I have to remember that.”

I’m happy for audiobooks from the library for our upcoming road trip!

You can also contribute by commenting at the bottom of this post.  Please include: your name if you’d like us to use it and any other info you’d like us to list, e.g., if the “gratitude” is from one of your children, it would be great to know his or her age.
