Welcome to our community gratitude journal, open to all who’d like to express their thanks or share a happy thought.

I am grateful for all the laughter spread throughout the world on Global Belly Laugh Day. On January 24 at 1: 24 p.m. (local time) smile, throw your arms in the air and laugh out loud!

I am grateful for the rare moments of walking hand-in-hand with my son.

I am thankful that my daughter and I are working together to make our mornings together more pleasant.

I’m grateful for all this research being done on gratitude.  It’s so wonderful to read about its surprising benefits.  And the stories warm my heart.

I am grateful to have found out about the work of the Center for Greater Good. As busy professional parent of 3, I am enjoying reading Raising Happiness and feel hopeful that I can raise my kids to be happy grateful and generous individuals.

I am grateful that my children are growing up to be such kind, sweet and intelligent souls.

I’m grateful for the time in the morning to do simple chores—dishes, even laundry.

I’m grateful that my high school sweetheart has grown up with me to become the most supportive partner, kind negotiator, and bewitching date I could ask for…. and it’s helpful to remind myself (and him) of that on these groggy days when three kids (6, 4, & 6 months) interrupted us periodically throughout the night!

I’m grateful for kind neighbors who were able watch my daughter for a couple of hours so I could attend a meeting.

Every week we post a photo submitted by one of our readers along with all the happy and thankful comments gathered throughout the week.

To contribute, email your gratitude (a sentence or two would be great) or your favorite photo to Janine at janinek@berkeley.edu

You can also contribute by commenting at the bottom of this post.  Please include: your name if you’d like us to use it and any other info you’d like us to list, e.g., if the “gratitude” is from one of your children, it would be great to know his or her age.
