Happiness in Hard Times: Why Happiness Matters and How We Can Have More of It

Why is happiness important when we’re struggling? Moreover, how can we find it? Dr. Christine Carter will share findings from the new science of happiness at this event. Whether or not you are having a hard time, this talk is sure to leave you smiling-and with a handful of easy things you can do right away to bring more joy, creativity, and emotional intelligence into your life.
Christine Carter, Ph.D., is a sociologist and happiness expert at UC Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center. She is the author of Raising Happiness: 10 Simple Steps for More Joyful Kids and Happier Parents and she writes a blog for the Greater Good Science Center, which offers parents science-based tips for fostering well-being in children.
