Lisa Flook


Lisa Flook completed her PhD in clinical psychology at UCLA and is currently a scientist at the Center for Healthy Minds at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research has investigated the negative consequences of academic and interpersonal stress on children and adolescents. Current research focuses on early intervention and prevention through mindfulness-based approaches to mitigate the negative effects of stress and promote self-regulation and prosocial skills development.

She became involved in studying the effects of mindfulness in school settings at UCLA through the Mindful Awareness Research Center and joined CHM in 2009 to further develop and expand upon this work. At CHM, we have been working with preschool and elementary school students and teachers, parents, and pre-service teachers to explore effective and sustainable ways of introducing mindfulness-based practices in school and community settings and ways to assess their effects through research.
